Doggie Long Legs

Well now I guess I've done it all. LOL After seeing one of my Dolly Long Leg Fairies someone requested I make two for their dogs. So I figured out how to make the faces look somewnat like their dogs and....wha la! Dolly Long Leg Doggies! She request that they not be too frilly or flowery..even a little scary. Yikes! Charlie is a little chihuaha and Little Rascal an English Bulldog.

After these photos were shot I had to make some changes on the dolls. First off Little Rascal's name was suppose to be Little Rooster. lol Then Charlie had a little too much leopard print so we had to change that as well.

Unfortunately I forgot to take pics after the changes, but you get the drift. lol Let me know what you think!

Dottee Dolls

I've entered into a Dottee swap. The newest thing in the art doll world. They are little dolls (about 4-8") with little faces and tails. We had to make one with a little charm of some kind on the tail. Of course I made dominos. LOL
Now I mail them out and I'll get 3 new ones that someone else made. This was a quick fun project.

My Favorite Sister Christine

That's right folks I have a favorite sister. Yes I admit...she's my only sister, but that doesn't make her any less my favorite. She lives in Montclair, New Jersey and she is a financial advisor for JP Morgan/Chase. Yes.and in case you didn't realize she is also the one with all the brains.
We've had problems recently with selecting pictures of her to show. Although she is quite beautiful in person, she is one of those people just doesn't take great pictures. Not sure why, because she is so pretty.
However I promised to put her on my blog and so have "stolen" this picture from her work email to put here. I think this a good picture of her, although as I said, she is much prettier in person. I've also found one or two more that weren't bad.
Anyway, I just want everyone to know about her so here is a little background info. She is my younger sister, and she is 40+ years old. She has 4 daughters who are all terrific..although somewhat crazy in their own ways. In addition to her financial wizdom, she is also a fitness nut and has run the NY marathon. (Obviously we are veerryyyy different!)
So if you happen to be looking for a terrific financial advisor, who just happens to be a fitness nut and an all around great fun person...let me know and I'll hook you up with her.

In the mean time....Chris I love ya!

Dolly Long Legs

Here are some new dolls that I've been working on. They are cute hanging fairy dolls that are approx 18-24" tall with dangling legs and funny heads. I'm thinking about putting them on Etsy to sell. Let me know what you think.

Better Pics

Here are some more pics. I sent in my submission and boy am I nervous. Especially after some of the other submissions. They are wonderful. I'm really nervous about the AFIC (Artisitic Figures in Cloth) Conference. But I felt better when they said there would be different catagories. beginners, intermediate and masters.

Anyway here are the other pictures I submitted.

Dr. Whiteface is finished.

He's finally done. Now I just have to take a decent picture to submit. My camera is acting really hinky and all my pics are funny colors. Not sure what's up with that. Anyway here are some pics I took, but still not able to submit since they're not very good.
Happy with the doll though. Especially since it's really my first time sculpting a full real face. Two actually if you count the little doll on the stick. I have to submit a photo by April 1st and then send the doll in to be in a doll show. I'm really excited about that since people will get to see my doll in person then.

New Dolls

Just started working on a new sock doll. Well not exactly new. Many years ago we made these dolls in the nursing home where I worked. There was this lovely woman ruth who was in her nineties and losing her sight. However it didn't stop her from crafting...ever. anyway she made these great dolls and we called them Ruthie dolls. So I remembered them decided to try making them again. Apparently it's an old pattern that's been around a long time, nothing great, but they're so cute and they're made from socks.
Anyway here is one that's mostly finished and I have about 5 more almost done. Cute eh? I'll post the rest as I finish them.
