New Doll
I'm on a roll now with sculpting. I'm really having fun with it. Here is a face & hands that I've started. Not sure what it will be yet, but it's an old man. So I'll go from there. Now I'll have to make a body for him.
Discworld Doll
Been working on this doll, which is another character from the discworld series. She has been shipped out to go to the Discworld show in Ohio I think. Her name is Miss Treason and she is a witch from the series. Her face and hands are sculpted in polymer clay and her body is a wire armature with soft wrapping. She is an original design, I used her likeness from the internet photos of Miss Treason.

Steampunk Doll
I've been sooo busy lately that I haven't been good about posting here. I promise to get better. I've been working on a Steampunk Doll for a DollStreet Dreamers challenge. She took a long time to finish. I don't know how these ladies do it so fast. One lady has made 2 in less then a month. I think mine took about 6 weeks to finish. lol Well anyway.
Her name is Octavia Oakley and she has a polymer clay face and a wired armature body that's been stuffed and sewn. Her hands are also cloth. Her outfit was originally a pleather jacket that I cut up and made into her vest, boots. Her pants and blouse are the silk lining from the jacket. then she has lace all around. Her hat is actually a styrofoam plate covered with the pleather and then with "steampunk" items glued on.
Now comes the hard part. I have to pack this baby and send it to the woman who will be taking them to the show. lol

It's been a while!
Well we never sold the house, but now we're renting it. We have however moved to PA and we're loving it. Despite the weather we live in a beautiful log home and we're only 1- 1.5 hours from our family.
Also my DH built me a beautiful studio in our basement that is a wonderful place to create. It's been a while, but I'm finally back in business. Here are some pics...before & after.

I'm back!
Well I'm back. We will bemoving soon, well when our house sells & who knows when that will be. In the mean time I had to pack almost all of my art supplies which makes me very sad. I miss my "stuff". However on a good note. I did leave out my drawing supplies, which I really haven't used in a long time. So i've started sketching & painting again. Having a lot of fun. Here are a few of my pictures.
These were done with watercolors, pencils, and markers. I forgot how much I like to draw. lol Well I guess I'll go back to the drawing board.

New addition to the family
Well we have a new addition to our family. Once again I'm a cat grandma. My daughter Melissa decided that her new cat Ringo needed company, since she worked so much, so she got him a friend. A little kitten named Timmy (so far) who looks just like a little version of Ringo. Here are some pictures of Timmy & Ringo.

Happy Birthday Christine
In with the 10 other birthdays in January, we celebrated my sister Christine's 50th birthday in atlantic city, nj. What fun! I hadn't been there in years. Very different from what I remembered. Way too many "kids" for me, but I think that was because it was a Friday night. I'll have to try again during the week.
Anyway we had a great time and I got to see some friends of her's that I hadn't seen in 30+ years. Here are some of the pics.
Happy New Year! Welcome Baby Riley!!!
OK So I know it's late. Actually 14 days late, but who's counting? Not me. Well maybe me.
Been very busy with the holidays, birthday etc. and of course our new baby girl...Riley Jade! Yes we have a new granddaughter and she is sooo beautiful. I can't believe she's here. Born Dec. 16th 2009. She is sooo beautiful! Whoops...did I say that already? Well she is..look for yourself!
Did I lie? No, she is definitely a beautiful baby. Can't wait to see her again.

Elf Troll
Well here is another doll I'm almost finished with. It was suppose to be this pretty little elf fairy but alas it turned out to be an elf troll. Darn if these dolls just don't have a mind of there own.
The doll is from an on-line class I downloaded about 9 monmths or more ago. I'm just not good at following a pattern, thus the metamorphesis of this doll from elf fairy to elf troll. lol
Anyway, here are the pics. The troll is climbing a paper mache' rock. The doll is all material and the face is also doe skin material with thread sculpted nose, eyes and mouth.

He's almost done except for having to permanently attach him to his "rock". Right now he's pinned on it.

Christmas Doll Raffle
Here is the final version of the Christmas Doll. I added blond hair since my duaghter mentioned that the fur hat looked like white hair and made her look old. We wouldn't want an old christmas doll so a blond she is!
She goes off the the church tomorrow to get in line with all the other raffles. I hope she makes me proud.

Good Vibrations
One more doll. She is a soft sculpture from a pattern by Patti Culea. Also for a doll challenge without a face until recently. Her face isn't bad but these pictures aren't very good. I'll have to take them again when I have time. She is suppose to be a flower child meditating.
Her clothes are once again from the thrift shop. I believe in recycling as you can see. LOL
Evil Elf Knight
Here is another doll. My Evil elf Knight. He's from a challenge that I did a while ago but he didn't have a face. he has one now, although not one of my best for sure. But a face never- the- less. He is a soft doll over a wire armature. His face is also soft but not sculptured. Just painted on. His clothes were made from thrift store clothing that I cut up.His hair is black faux fur.

I won...well I tied to win!
I'm so excited! My art quilt (Halloween Night) won first prize in the on-line craft contest. YIKES. This was my first art quilt and it won. Well I actually tied with someone else but that's ok by me. A win is a win. LOL
Here is a picture to remind you what it looked like. Hopefully this is the beginning of a new year for me.

Christmas Doll Raffle?
I've been working diligently on a Christmas doll that I might put in for a raffle for the church fair. It depends how it comes out. Since it will be a representation of my work it really has to be good so I'll wait and see what happens. I don't have much time left so I'm just cranking it out. Here are some pics of the process so far.
She's made from a large brass candlestick. Her head is sculpted paperclay over a styrophome ball stuffed into the top of the candlestick and her body is wired around the candlestick with cloth over it. Her dress is made from old lace and her cape is made from an old velvet dress I found at the thrift shop. it has this large beading in the back but I didn't take a pic of that yet.
She will have a matching white muff to match her white fur hat. Still very much a work in progress.

Brand new Quilt
Here is the beginning of my new idea for a quilt. I got this great material of a brick wall. I decided to try and make a series of art quilts of vignettes in front of a brick wall.
The first one which I just started is of a graffiti wall with the graffiti artist at work. It's just in the beginning stages. I've painted the "graffiti" with paint sticks and I made the graffiti artist using various materials and stitching. it's still very much in the beginning stages but I thought I'd share it anyway.
